Helical Concrete Stair – Agritourism in Tuscany

C-AS2 line helical concrete stair, surrounded by a circular perimeter wall, finished in resin.

A concrete stair, installed inside a Tuscan agritourism, connects the living area with the first-floor sleeping quarters, continuing up to the attic. The stair is entirely wrapped by a brick perimeter wall, maximizing the use of space.

The former barn in the rolling Tuscan hills has been transformed into a comfortable and functional apartment, designed and furnished down to the finest details to ensure simplicity and usability, further enhanced by the installation of our helical concrete staircase.

The design phase was crucial: in collaboration with the technical team, we developed a solution that not only harmonizes with the rustic aesthetic but also complies with regulations for stair installations in hospitality structures.

This stair, positioned at the entrance of the agritourism where the living area is located, reaches the first-floor bedrooms and continues to the attic relaxation area. The start and end points were carefully studied due to spatial and height constraints. After a careful review of the stairs in our catalog, the choice fell on the C-AS2 model—a stair that perfectly fits within the circular brick wall.

  • LOCATION: Lucca
  • YEAR: 2019
  • DIAMETER: 145 cm
  • HEIGHT: 500 cm
  • NUMBER OF STEPS24

This model allows for wider and fully usable treads, unlike the C-A model with the same diameter. It also eliminates any gap from the perimeter wall, removing the need for a railing. The decision to place the staircase against the perimeter wall was both aesthetic and functional, but not structural, as the stair is entirely self-supporting and requires no wall anchors.

The choice of finish was equally strategic: white resin, with its minimal thickness, creates a perfectly linear and uniform effect, enhancing the building’s unique and exclusive character.

To further highlight the staircase’s aesthetic and create a captivating ambiance, small LED spotlights were installed to guide the ascent.

Nestled amidst the greenery of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and surrounded by the panoramic view of the Apuan Alps, this staircase seems to have found its perfect home, enhancing the stay for guests who choose this stylish and charming agritourism.
